The Ciarb London Branch is delighted that our 2025 Keynote Speaker is Dr Hamid Gharavi. He will discuss whether Arbitration can in the current era, play a role in safeguarding democratic values. His keynote will follow the Branch’s Annual General Meeting.
Dr Gharavi is the co-founding Partner of the Paris based firm Derains & Gharavi. He is a member of the Paris & New York Bars and has acted as counsel and arbitrator in over 250 ad-hoc and institutional commercial and investment arbitrations. Dr Gharavi holds or has held court or board positions at major institutions, teaches investment arbitration at the University of Paris II and is the author of numerous books and essays on international arbitration and international law.

Attendees are therefore requested to wear business dress (no sports shoes or denim), with men asked to wear a jacket, collar and tie.
