London is a leading seat for international arbitration. Significant changes to the statutory framework will be introduced by the Arbitration Bill 2024, amending the Arbitration Act 1996. The Bill purports to clarify the law governing arbitration agreements, strengthen the courts’ supporting powers and facilitate faster and fairer dispute resolution. In addition, the courts continue to develop arbitration law in important respects.
The panelists will discuss the following topics:
1. Law of the arbitration agreement
2. Arbitration and corruption
3. Challenges to substantive jurisdiction under section 67
4. Arbitrators’ duties of disclosure
