Event Information

RPC and Ciarb London Branch are delighted to invite you to attend the Sports Arbitration seminar on 9th September. They will lift the lid on the world of all things sport arbitration, where the stakes are high, the press are waiting and the stories are anything but dull. They will unpack the journey leading up to and including a sports arbitration hearing and its procedural nuances. They will examine how sports arbitrations are often different from commercial arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution, including the interplay with recent CJEU decisions (including Seraing – hot off the press) before diving into the proceedings themselves. They will draw on the speakers’ collective experiences with all the legal twists and turns, from national-based UK sports disputes, through to CAS hearings and major international sporting events, including Olympic-related disputes.

Introductions and conclusions: Jonathan Wood FCIArb - Former Ciarb President.

speakers. Joshua Charalambous (RPC), Christopher Vajda KC (Monckton Chambers), Ruth Kennedy (11KBW), John Mehrzad KC (Fountain Court Chambers).

Panel 2: Neville Byford (RPC), Shobana Iyer (Swan Chambers), Jim Sturman KC (2BR, The Chambers of Brian Altman KC and Christine Agnew KC).
