The Ciarb London Branch Committee invite you to join us for an evening webinar on award writing. The webinar will consider from different perspectives, the topic of what it takes to make an arbitral award really work. Leading arbitral professionals will discuss the technical steps required to ensure the quality of awards, the common pitfalls to avoid and the work institutions can do to support the process.

The session will be moderated by Natalia Otlinger, Trainee Solicitor at HFW and Committee Member and PR officer at the Ciarb London Branch.

Speakers: Dr Katherine Simpson, Perenami Momodu, Ashwita Ambast and Tope Adeyemi.

Tope Adeyemi is a Barrister at 33 Bedford Row Chambers practicing in the areas of regulation and ADR. She has extensive decision-making experience, having sat as an arbitrator, ombudsman and adjudicator. Tope is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member the CIArb’s London Branch Committee.

Ashwita Ambast is Legal Counsel at the Permanent Court of Arbitration. As legal Counsel she acts as registrar and tribunal secretary in a variety of international arbitrations. She also previously served as Co-Registrar of the Mauritius International Arbitration Centre (MIAC). Ashwita obtained her LLM degree from Yale, is a Solicitor of England and Wales and is admitted to practice in India.

Perenami Momodu is a partner in the Dispute Resolution, Insolvency, Energy, Agriculture and Labour Practice Groups at Aelex. She is regularly involved in high value commercial disputes resolution before arbitral tribunals and superior courts, frequently leading teams. Perenami successfully led a team representing an exploration and production company in an arbitration pertaining to assignment of interest and cost recovery in a marginal field of the value of approximately US$40 million.

Dr Katherine Simpson is a full is a full – time independent arbitrator with broad experience in business, commercial, labor, investment and employment disputes gained through her 12 years of arbitration practice. She is a member of the panel of many of the leading dispute resolution institutions and has served as tribunal secretary in high value and complex cases.
