The Young Members Group of the CIArb London Branch is pleased to host this webinar with its fellow YMGs from the CIArb Kenya Branch and the CIArb Nigeria Branch, where representatives from a number of jurisdictions will:

• Discuss the position in each jurisdiction regarding the public policy defence to the enforcement of arbitral awards

• Discuss the extent to which national courts can or should be able to re-open a tribunal's findings of fact and law

• Consider recent trends regarding enforcement in the various jurisdictions

Orji A Uka is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Department of ALP NG & Co and is based in Lagos, Nigeria. He advises on diverse areas of Nigerian law and regularly appears before trial & appellate courts as well as arbitral tribunals in commercial and civil disputes.

James Ngotho Kariuki is the current Chair of the CIArb Kenya Branch YMG. He is a Fellow of the CIArb and currently practices in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group of IKM Advocates DLA Piper Africa, Kenya. James also holds an LLM in International Investment and Trade Law specializing in cross border investments and their corresponding treaty instruments.

Angélica André is Counsel in the International Arbitration Group at White & Case and is based in Paris, France. She focuses on commercial arbitration and deals with annulment proceedings with respect to arbitral awards in France, and enforcement proceedings in France and worldwide.
