On 1 March 2023 the London Branch co-organised a hybrid evening event with the Centre of Construction Law & Dispute Resolution at King’s College London to discuss the challenges of fact witness evidence in construction disputes. King’s College kindly hosted the event, which was also sponsored by Crown Office Chambers and Berkeley Research Group. Professor Renato Nazzini, Director of the Centre of Construction Law & Dispute Resolution at King’s College, chaired a panel discussion which covered preparing witness statements in the light of recent English court rules (Robert Price, Latham & Watkins), comparative aspects of fact witness evidence (Gillian Carmichael Lemaire, Carmichael Lemaire Ltd), in-house perspectives on fact witness evidence (Sam Kay, Keir Group) and what arbitrators and adjudicators want to see when it comes to fact witness evidence (Kim Franklin KC, Crown Office Chambers). We were delighted to have a good turnout as well as a number of colleagues joining online. A Q&A session was followed by networking over drinks.
