Roadmap to qualifying and working in different jurisdictions

On 29 September 2022, the Young Members Groups of the CIArb London Branch and the East Asia Branch hosted a webinar on careers in arbitration in different jurisdictions. The panel of speakers comprised Jennifer Wu, Mathew Briggs, Mark McMahon and Elizabeth Montpetit. Robert Price moderated the discussion.

The panel shared their experiences with moving to new jurisdictions and practising international arbitration in different parts of the world. The speakers discussed the pros and cons of qualifying in more than one jurisdiction, the usefulness of language skills, and the importance of mentoring and networking. Following a lively discussion, the panellists gave their top tips and recommendations for pursuing a career in international arbitration.
